TECHNOLOGY AND PROCESS DETAILS

Collection Sump
The effluent from the various industries is collected in the collection sump, which is constructed below Ground Level as per site conditions. Submersible pumps pump the effluent from collection sump to bar screen.

Primary Treatment

Screening/Grit Chamber
After passing through coarse bar screen, where large inorganic floating particles are screened, the effluent then flows to grit chamber for separation of easily settable matter followed by oil and grease trap.

Oil & Grease Trap
In oil and grease trap where the free oil & grease will be separated by floatation.

Equalization Tank
The effluent free of oil is collected in the Equalization tank. For proper mixing of the effluent air agitation is provided with the help of coarse bubble system.

Flash Mixture/ Clariflocculator
The effluent flow to pretreatment section i.e. flash mixer followed by Clariflocculator for removal of suspended solids in the form of sludge. Arrangement for dosing of chemicals like Lime, Ferrous Sulphate (FeSO4) and polyelectrolyte is provided.

SECONDARY TREATMENT

Aeration Tank / Secondary Clarifier
The clarified effluent flows by gravity to the aerobic system for removal of the organic matter. The Aeration tank is divided into 2 parts, One having capacity of 10 MLD & other 5 MLD. The amount of oxygen required for synthesis of organic matter is supplied by fine bubble diffused aeration system. The biomass developed in the aerobic system will be separated in the clarifier and re-circulated back to the aeration tank to maintain the desired MLSS concentration. The excess sludge will be sent to the thickener.

TERTIARY TREATMENT

Chlorine Contact Tank
The treated effluent from the secondary clarifier flows by gravity to chlorine Contact Tank where Sodium hypochlorite is dosed to address the presence of pathogens in secondary treated wastewater i.e. disinfection purpose.

Pressure Sand Filter/ Activated Carbon Filter
The effluent from the chlorine contact tank flows to the Filter feed sumps from where it is pumped under pressure through Pressure Sand Filtration unit for removal of traces of suspended solids followed by activated carbon for removal of chlorine and residual colors.

TREATED EFFLUENT HOLDING

Effluent Blending Tank/ Treated Effluent Tank
The effluent after filtration will flow to treated effluent /blending sump. The TDS of effluent, which is in the range of 3000 mg/l, needs to be brought down to < 2100 mg/l. The treated effluent will be blended with treated domestic effluent with a TDS of 700 mg/l.

SLUDGE TREATMENT

Sludge Thickener/ Decanter/Centrifuge/ Sludge Storage Yard
The sludge generated from the primary & Biological treatment is collected in a sludge sump and flows by gravity to the sludge thickener for thickening. The Thickened sludge is collected in a thickened sludge sump and is pumped to the centrifuge for dewatering. Dewatering Polyelectrolyte dosing arrangement is provided at inlet of centrifuge. The dewatered sludge is collected in the sludge storage yard from where it can be suitably disposed.
